Tidelock Command: Surviving Your First Hour
I lost badly my first time with Tidelock Command, and talking to the team, almost everyone did. The game throws you into fleet management without much hand-holding, so here's what I wish I'd known.
Don't spread thin. The instinct is to defend every island, but you can't, and trying just leaves everything weak. Pick two or three islands you can actually protect and let the rest be bait while you build up.
Use the pause. Battles run in real time but you can freeze everything to reposition, and early on you should pause constantly. There's no shame in it, and the people who win are the ones who plan during those pauses.
Finally, watch your supply lines before your firepower. A fleet that runs out of supplies loses without a shot fired, and I made that mistake twice before it sank in. Once you respect logistics, the game opens up and gets genuinely great.
